The Community Committee and friends planting trees around Victor Harbor 2019.
The annual Christmas Pageant will be put on hold this year due to COVID restrictions and in its place Victor Harbor is presenting a week long Festival of Christmas.
|The event will be held from Monday December 7th through to Sunday 13th December inclusive. |
It will be launched at the Giant Christmas Tree on Warland Reserve, followed by the Harcourts Home Christmas Lights trail, coordinated by The Victor Harbor Times newspaper with prizes for the best display.
There will also be a business Christmas shop front lights display, music from the State’s finest pipe organist and grand piano at Newland Memorial Church, a Christmas tree competition, horse and carriage rides, and a Festival of Bands event.

Monday 7 December: 8 pm. Launch the Festival of Christmas at the Giant Christmas Tree on Warland Reserve
Monday 7 December: Launch Harcourts Home Christmas Lights Trail – Coordinated by VH Times newspaper.
They will coordinate the entries, marketing and media. Including a route for visitors to follow and manage the voting for the prizes.
Harcourts are offering $1,000 in prizes. $500 for first, $300 for second and $200 for third prize.

Monday 7 December: Launch Victor Harbor Christmas Shop Display.
Thursday 10 December: Newland Memorial Church – Reflections : 10 am to 11 am piano and pipes music.
Enjoy relaxing music with one of the States finest pipe organs and grand piano’s in a magnificent acoustic venue.
Thursday 10 December:
Rotary Polio Ute will be in Victor Harbor and there will be tickets sold to support the Rotary Polio World Eradication programme.
On Saturday 12 December:
10am to 3pm Horse and carriage rides. Rides will depart from Flinders Parade near the Memorial Gardens.
1pm to 4pm Giant Balloon on Warland Reserve. Sponsored by the Strathalbyn Rotary Club. Gold coin donation.
2 pm to 4 pm Christmas Tree competition.
Three categories: Traditional, Australian, Innovative
Great prizes for each category.

Christmas Pageant 2019
Last year’s Christmas Pageant and Carols By The Sea was coordinated by the Rotary Victor Harbor and Rotary Encounter Bay and took place on Saturday 14 December 2019 and was a huge success.
The afternoon began with a Santa Fun Run at 5.15 pm followed shortly after by the Christmas Pageant at 5:30 pm. This year saw over 60 different floats and bands. Following the procession Carols by the Sea event took place on Grosvenor Gardens.
