The Rotary Club of Victor Harbor has announced a grants program to assist community groups and organisations to improve the wellbeing of people within the Victor Harbor community.
A total of $10,000 has been allocated for the 2016/17 program which will be offered in two rounds – November and February.
Expressions of interest for the second round are open from February 1st through to the 28th of February. Applications for small amounts are encouraged as the club is keen to assist as many projects and organisations as possible.
To be eligible for funding groups must be non-profit community groups or organisations.
Organisations based within Victor Harbor will be given priority. Organisations situated outside of Victor Harbor are eligible to apply but must be able to demonstrate that the project will primarily impact upon residents in Victor Harbor.
Priority will be given to projects that:
• Can demonstrate that a grant is necessary for the project to be able to proceed.
• Address areas of need within the community.
• Have long-term benefts for the community.
• Have a realistic chance of success.
• Clearly define a plan and budget.
Grants will not normally be given for:
• Projects for which there is a more appropriate funding source.
• Fundraising purposes.
• Ongoing operational costs (e.g. rent, salaries, maintenance, and administration).
• Reimbursement of money already spent.
POINTS TO NOTE
If the requested grant represents only part of the total funding required for the project, details of how the balance is to be raised must be provided. The balance could include fund raising, other grants, donations or existing funds.
Appropriate acknowledgment of the support of the Victor Harbor Rotary Club will need to be given in promotional materials and reports. At the end of the project a brief report and expenditure statement must be provided.
